Ecologically, what niche do snakes fill? Did St. Patrick unbalalnce the Irish ecology banning snakes?
I am wondering how useful snakes are. Do they eat little vermin that would otherwise chow down on my vegetable garden and, if so, then did St. Patrick set the Irish up for worse problems than snakes?
