I want to join the airforce but my parents are against it, need some convincing i?

My parents think I'm going to die in the airforce, I told them it's much safer then all the other branches but it's no use. I'm 18 and thinking of just signing up but I want them to be with me on this, what's their mortality rate, I'd want to do something medical but don't want to be in Iraq, Im good with computers tho and maybe would like to do something with that, but what's airforce life like? Day to day, physical training, all that stuff, i go to college but don't think I'd be that great of a pilot, ijust want to know what's it going to be like in the airforce compared to any other branch, and what their benefits are also, I need that info to convince them that what I'm doing is going to bring me back in one piece and not shell shocked as they say when people go into the military they come back "coo koo"
